Local Control Funding Formula

Under California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), all schools develop and update a three-year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP outlines each school’s vision, annual goals, and strategies to support student success.

It focuses on eight state priority areas—including student achievement, engagement, school climate, and course access—while also addressing local priorities. The plan shows how budgets support these goals and reports annually on progress for all students and student subgroups.

State Priority Areas:

  1. Student Achievement

  2. Student Engagement

  3. Other Student Outcomes

  4. School Climate

  5. Parental Involvement

  6. Basic Services

  7. Implementation of Common Core Standards

  8. Course Access

Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) is a California state-funded program offering before-school, after-school, summer, and intersession programs for students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. ELO-P provides hands-on, engaging activities that support academic growth, social-emotional development, and physical skills, enriching the regular school day.

Education Protection Account (EPA)

Proposition 28

Proposition 28 Arts Education program funding allows school to use monies for instruction and training, supplies, materials, and arts educational partnership programs for instruction in dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts including folk art, painting, sculpture, photography, craft arts, creative expression including graphic arts and design, computer coding, animation, music composition, ensembles, script writing, costume design, film, and video.

School Accountability Report Cards

California Montessori Project’s SARCs provide key information about our schools, including student and staff demographics, academic performance, school programs, class sizes, and finances.

State law requires all public schools receiving state funding to prepare a SARC to keep parents and the community informed about each school’s progress and performance.
